Solar, Battery and EV Charger Installation in Tonbridge
A 5.5kW solar array, SigEnergy battery storage and an Easee EV charger, delivering an estimated £1,200 in annual savings and 1,153kg of CO2 reduction for a Tonbridge homeowner.
- Case Study, Tonbridge
A Complete Solar, Battery & EV System
This project brought together a 5.5kW solar array with a SigEnergy hybrid inverter, 5.2kWh of battery storage, an Easee EV charger and a surplus energy diverter, installed for a homeowner in Tonbridge.
Alongside strong annual savings, the system delivers a genuine reduction in the property’s carbon footprint.
- The System
What Went Into This Installation
Every component was chosen to work together as one system, from the panels generating the power to the battery, charger and immersion controller putting it to use.
- Solar array: 5.5kW, 11 Trina Vertex 500W monocrystalline panels
- Inverter: SigEnergy 5kW single-phase hybrid inverter
- Battery storage: 5.2kWh SigEnergy Store battery
- EV charger: Easee EV charger, post-mounted in the driveway
- Additional equipment: MyEnergi Eddi immersion controller
- Performance & Savings
£1,200 Saved Every Year
This system generates 5,609 kWh of solar power annually, with 41% of the property’s energy used coming directly from solar and a further 54% drawn from the battery, covering the vast majority of consumption from the system itself.
Together, that delivers an estimated £1,200 in annual savings and a reduction of 1,153kg of CO2 every year.
- £1,200 — Estimated annual savings
- 1,153kg — CO2 saved per year
- 5,609 kWh — Annual solar production
- 95% — Energy from solar & battery combined
- How It Works Together
Three Technologies, One Connected System
The Easee EV charger draws on surplus solar energy to charge the customer’s vehicle. The battery takes a different approach here, charging overnight on off-peak tariffs and discharging during peak times to maximise savings, rather than relying solely on daytime surplus.
The MyEnergi Eddi controller then puts any remaining surplus solar to use heating hot water.
